A person was pronounced dead after falling ill at Watford Junction – despite a large emergency services presence – British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed.
BTP were called to the station at 4.32pm on October 16 after reports of an individual being unwell in the building.
A fire engine, multiple ambulances and police vehicles were seen outside the station as railway services were disrupted.
The circumstances surrounding the illness have not been confirmed, and police have not released further details about the individual who died.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said on October 19: “Officers attended alongside paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
Services running to, from and through Watford Junction were affected until around 6.45pm during the incident. National Rail advised journeys would be cancelled, delayed, or revised to run part of their normal route.
