An Abbots Langley man has been charged with attempted child sexual offences after an hour-long paedophile hunter sting emerged online.
Shaun Cullen, 39, has been arrested after he was confronted by a group who attempt to catch paedophiles on October 18.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed today (October 20) that he has since been charged with five offences.
Three relate to attempted offences involving a child: inciting or causing a child to engage in sexual activity, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and engaging in sexual communication with a child.
He has also been charged with two breaches: one of a sexual harm prevention order and one of notification requirements.
Cullen has now been remanded into custody and was due to appear at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court this morning.
During the video, Cullen is seen talking to the group before police arrived to arrest him. When asked by them why he didn’t seek help before acting, he said: “I don’t know – I didn’t think I needed it.”
