One lucky Croxley resident began October by achieving what many people dream of – winning a lottery jackpot worth £250,000.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped the prize in the People’s Postcode Lottery (PPL) after being the sole winner in the WD3 4AB postcode. The postcode covers half of Copthorne Road, the cul-de-sac of Scots Mill Lane and a small section of Park Road.
PPL ambassador Judie McCourt congratulated the player on their windfall.
She said:
“Croxley Green has become even greener today with a quarter of a million pounds landing there. Congratulations to the sole winner of this prize. I hope they make some wonderful memories with it.”
Players pay £12 per month to enter the competition, which offers opportunities to win prizes throughout the week. Monday to Friday draws give participants the chance to win £1,000, while Saturday draws offer a share of £1,000,000. On Sundays, players have the opportunity to win £30,000.
The latest win adds to a series of lottery successes across Hertfordshire. September draws saw six winning postcodes in the county, including WD19 4QQ, which covers Oxhey Road in Watford. The winner will now put their prize towards whatever they choose, whether treating loved ones, enjoying a holiday or making plans for the future.
