Extinction Rebellion St Albans have announced online presentation dates in a bid to help Hertfordshire residents learn about the climate crisis.
The online presentations will highlight the consequences of the climate emergency and will feature stories from St Albans residents’ of taking part in Extinction Rebellion protests.
St Albans resident and Extinction Rebellion member Helen Furse is looking forward to taking part in the online events.
She said: “There has been a small change in awareness of climate change over the last couple of years. But many have not yet grasped the huge scale of the problem – or the consequences.”
Nigel Harvey, manager of a recycling company and a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion St Albans said the discussions will be as relevant to Hertfordshire as possible.
He said: “We intend on making this discussion as relevant as possible to us in Hertfordshire. We will discuss Extinction Rebellion’s guiding principles, and insiders’ views of experience in recent rebellions.
“And crucially we will discuss what we in St Albans can do beyond switching off the lights and putting out the recycling.”
The events, which are free of charge to attend, will take place on Wednesday, January 13 and in February (with the date to be confirmed) at 7.30pm via Zoom.
Advance registration is essential via the XR St Albans website, Facebook page, or email xr.stalbans@gmail.com
