The team at KINGSnews were saddened to hear of the passing of a former Kings Langley resident.
Joan Graham, who lived in the village for 62 years, died aged 92 on Friday, November 8.
People have reached out to KINGSnews to pay tribute to her profound impact on the community, including Joan’s three sons and their families.
A resilient, multi-talented sportswoman, Joan was raised in the mining communities of the Durham coalfield during the Great Depression and Second World War.
She was exceptionally well known in the village, having taught PE and maths at Kings Langley School for many years, as well serving as a governor and parish councillor.
Joan set up a babysitting group and league netball team for new mums, was a stalwart of the local Women’s Institute, was fully involved in the WEA, and was a founding member of Good Neighbours.
She and her late husband, Joe, loved living in Kings Langley and the family wish to thank their incredible Osbourne Avenue neighbours for years of friendship and support.
