BIG BAND: Orchestra returns to the stage to perform Rat Pack classics

Published on: 9th January 2023   |   By: Megan Milstead   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Nick Ross Orchestra will perform at The Radlett Centre later this month.

The Glenn Miller & Rat Pack Era concert will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, January 28.

The group of 18 band members will play around 30 tracks by Glenn Miller, including In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade and Little Brown Jug. They will also perform music from Count Basie and Frank Sinatra.

Orchestra founder Nick Ross said: “Getting everything ready can be quite hectic, but once the concert starts, it’s a fabulous feeling.”

The orchestra formed in 1985 and has performed in Radlett many times over the years. They previously recorded a CD, Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era, at Abbey Road Studios in London just before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Nick also recently launched an e-magazine dedicated to the history of big band players, which he edits and designs.
