POLICE APPEAL: Witnesses sought following robbery in Watford

Published on: 12th December 2022   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information, as part of ongoing enquiries into a robbery in Watford.

The incident occurred in Falcon Way, at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, December 6.

It was reported that a 19-year-old man was riding a matt black Sur-Ron e-bike near the bottom of the road, which runs underneath the M1, when he was approached by three males wearing black clothing and balaclavas.

The males shouted at the victim to get off the bike and, as he attempted to get away, he was stabbed to the back.

The males then made off with the bike.

The victim made his way towards The Gossamers where he sought help. He required hospital treatment for his injuries but is now recovering at home.

PC Ben Nash, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “Thankfully the victim’s injuries did not prove to be life threatening, but could easily have been more serious.

“Our enquiries are continuing at this time and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

“Did you see three males acting suspiciously in the area around the time? Did you see anyone riding an e-bike in the area or have you seen one advertised for sale? Any information at all could prove key to progressing our enquiries, so please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to please email ben.nash@herts.police.uk
