M&S Pinner Foodhall has been supporting the NHS by introducing new and specially designed bags for life in their store.

They are going to donate all the profits made by selling the bags to NHS Charities Together, to support staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients.

A statement on their social media read: “The limited edition 20p bags, which were inspired by suggestions from our colleagues working in stores, feature a rainbow and heart design, a symbol of unity during these challenging times – and a ‘thank you’ message to show our appreciation for our NHS heroes who are working round the clock to look after us all and save lives.”

Section manager, Ana Chira speaking to PinnerNews said: “It’s very important for all of us to work as a community and support each other and we all know how much the NHS is doing to keep us alive. They are doing as much as they can, they work so hard; they are the people most at risk as they’re in front of that virus.”

People are very supportive of this initiative, Ana added: “The sale of the bags is going really well, the costumers are loving this idea, most of them are asking the bags themselves, because its been advertised on tv and social media.”

A person commented on the post on social media site Facebook saying: “I’ll look out for the bags when I do my weekly shop. Thank you to all my lovely friends in store for all their hard work.”

Another person wrote: “I am a nurse working at Northwick Park, I will pop in and buy a few of the special bags.”
