A Ruislip-focused opera society is getting ready for a show of can-can dancing, comical songs and pie and mash supper with a performance reviving Victorian ‘music hall’ entertainment for two nights only.

Taking place with three performance across May 28 and 29, WOS Productions will be presenting ‘I Say, I Say, I Say!’, a musical tribute to 19th century ‘music hall’ performances, entertainment for the era’s working classes whose performers became the stars of their day.

The WOS, who contain many members from Ruislip and others from throughout the Hillingdon borough, is one of North West London’s leading amateur musical theatre groups, often performing twice a year in May and November at the Winston Churchill Hall, Ruislip.

Speaking about the performance, WOS Productions Chairman David Smith, said: “I can remember my grandmother singing many of these Music Hall songs to me as a child, and it is an absolute pleasure for me to recreate these wonderful songs and perform them to a new generation.

“With the addition of traditional pie and mash, what more could you want for an afternoon or evening’s entertainment?”

Tickets will cost £15 for adults and £10 for children aged 12 and under, with an addition £10 for the drinking and dining ticket, which must be ordered for May 18. The show is being performed at St Lawrence Church Hall on Bridle Road in Eastcote, HA5 2SJ.
