Do you know a carer who has gone above and beyond? They may be the perfect fit to be nominated for a MyLocalHero Award.
Since its inception in 2009, the awards, held at the prestigious The Grove Hotel, have celebrated heroes who have played an integral part in the community.
After being put on hold due to the pandemic, the awards are ready to return in style on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
In the past, we have honoured people from all over our news patches whose dedication to making their communities better for everyone we feel is deserving of commendation.
Never has this been more important than now, after witnessing people from across our 17 magazines step up in the face of uncertainty over the past two years.
The Carer of the Year, sponsored by BHE HUB and presented by managing director, Paul Morris OBE, honours those who have put their needs aside to care for others.
At the last event in 2019, the award went to Margaret Sharp, who has cared for her husband, Phillip, for 20 years, since he had a stroke. She then created a carer hub, where she gets a group of local carers to meet every week and gets to know them and helps them.
If you would like to nominate your hero for the Neighbour of the Year, please email your nomination to nik@mynewsmag.co.uk
