Sir Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, has sent good wishes to His Majesty King Charles III following the announcement of his cancer diagnosis.
The King is now undergoing treatment after he was diagnosed with cancer while in hospital for benign prostate enlargement.
Sir Mike said: “I send His Majesty the very best wishes and support. I wish him a speedy recovery and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
“Further, I must take this opportunity to thank him for his decision to make the diagnosis public and thereby raise the profile of cancer and the importance of catching it early. I would urge anyone who has concerns about changes in their body that could be linked to cancer to make sure they get it looked at as soon as possible.”
