Thames Valley Police (TVP) supported the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in an operation to remove untaxed vehicles from the streets of last month.
On Tuesday, March 15 and Wednesday, March 16 officers spent time in the Chalfonts towing and clamping vehicles which were untaxed. TVP and the DVLA also spent time patrolling nearby villages of Chesham and Amersham.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police confirmed: “On March 15 and 16 Chesham Neighbourhood Police conducted an operation supporting the DVLA following concerns raised by the public. Over the two days, 16 vehicles were taken away, 43 vehicles were clamped and 25 fines were issued.
“During the operation one driver verbally abused and assaulted DVLA staff. We are currently conducting an investigation into this and no arrests have been made at this time. Members of the public are encouraged to report untaxed vehicles to the DVLA at www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle”
The DVLA were contacted for comment.
