Pinner school cricket team have bowled over the competition after being crowned best in West London.

The team from West Lodge Primary School represented Harrow in the West London finals yesterday (July 5) after succeeding in the Harrow Cricket Cup finals in June.

At the Year 5/6 Best Team Cricket West London Finals at Ealing Cricket Club the team won the London tournament after a match against local school Pinner Wood.

Mr Went, manager of the team, said: “The squad should be so proud of their efforts and determination; they had each other’s backs every step of the way and the positivity within the group, both on and off the pitch, was palpable!”

Mr Dees, headteacher at the school, added: “The children worked really hard to hone their skills in batting, bowling and fielding in the weeks leading up to the tournament and have worked together so well as a team!”

West Lodge’s Boys’ cricket team previously entered the Harrow Finals as one of the six champions and performed well to secure a spot in the finals.
