A sixteen-year-old student from Parmiter’s School has won the Key Stage 3 to 5 Exceptional Performer Award at the Three Rivers and Watford School Sports Partnership ceremony, which was hosted by Rickmansworth School.

Alexei Rojas won the headline award for his already glittering career as a goalkeeper. Alexei spent time with Chelsea Youth from 2016 to 2019, before getting picked up by Arsenal Youth.

Having spent time training under manager Mikel Arteta and alongside the first team squad, Alexei was officially offered a scholarship by the North London club and will be playing for the Arsenal Under 18’s next season. Alexei is also preparing to join up with the national Columbian Under 20’s squad this summer.

Michael Jones, Headmaster of Parmiter’s School, heaped praise on his student: “I speak to the sports department and they all go on about what a terrific young man he is, let alone how talented he is as a footballer. He’s just a really wonderful person. You know he works really hard for everything he’s achieved. He’s modest, he’s humble, and is very popular with staff as well as students. He really deserves every bit of success.

“I’ve never seen him without a football in his hands. They used to say that about Jimi Hendrix and his guitar! Alexei’s a bit like that with his football.”
