Residents took to social media on Saturday, September 7, after a helicopter was seen flying over Bushey “for ages.”
The helicopter was seen flying over Bournehall Avenue and Herkomer Road at around 9.45pm.
One resident expressed their concern online, saying: “Any idea what’s going on?”
Another added: “It’s so loud and is doing my head in! Been going on for ages now!”
Another resident said it was rumoured that there were also lots of police officers in attendance at Bushey Country Club.
The Metropolitan Police later confirmed that officers who were on patrol in Bounds Green, North London, spotted a vehicle at around 9.30pm that evening, which had previously failed to stop for officers.
Police followed the car until it stopped in the Bushey Country Club car park around 15 minutes later. The helicopter was called in to assist.
After speaking to the driver, the police established that the vehicle was a hire car and the driver had not been driving it on the previous occasion.
One of the occupants of the car had been searched and a small amount of cannabis was found. However, there were no arrests and the situation was resolved “via community resolution”.
