Two sisters from Rickmansworth are taking the ice skating world by storm as they win medals across a number of prestigious competitions.
Sienna Osbourne, 13, and Blu-Belle Johnson, nine, both call the ice their “happy place”.
On May 20, the sisters competed in the Spin, Spiral, Jump competition in Basingstoke, with Blu-Belle taking home a gold medal.
Both sisters previously won gold medals at the prestigious Young Stars competition in March.
Speaking to RickyNews, mum Rebeccah said that ice skating carries the sisters through bad times.
Blu-Belle was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, but she has not let this hold her back.
She said: “Blu-Belle’s bravery and courage is just incredible; she’s overcoming her disability and showing it can be done.
“The girls are competing on one-hour-a-week lesson time and then I take them to a public rink three times are a week. They are just winning, winning, and winning.
“I think they’re a real inspiration and show that you shouldn’t give up no matter what life throws at you.”
Rebeccah added that the family and coaches are searching for financial support from sponsorships to help the girls continue their skating journey.
Anybody who is interested in sponsorship is asked to email Rebeccah at rebeccahbridget@gmail.com
