A man from Edgware is to stand trial later this year after being charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy. Lincoln Olaribigbe, 23, of Leamington House, Stonegrove, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on May 20 charged with the murder of Joel Adesina, of Dagenham. He is due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on September 28 with George Phillips, 20, of Hoxton, who is also accused of the murder. On December 5 2014, at approximately 11.05pm, the Metropolitan Police was called by London Ambulance Service to Bethnal Green Road, east London, after a teenager was stabbed. Officers found a 15-year-old boy suffering from serious stab injuries to the abdomen. He was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital, where he died at 2.12am on December 6. A post-mortem gave cause of death as stab wound to the liver. Tributes flooded in for Joel, who was a keen footballer. Ricky Downes, 54, manager of his team Bardag FC Yellows, said: “He was always dedicated, always worked hard and always gave 100 per cent. He was as good as gold. There was just something about him that touched people.”
