BIG MOVE: Kings Langley college campus set to make way for flats

Published on: 2nd October 2019   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Kings Langley college campus is likely to be demolished and replaced by flats as the council has granted outline planning permission.

Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) granted the initial permission for up to 65 flats to take the place of West Herts College’s (WHC) Kings Langley campus in Langley Waters, Home Park, with current staff and students there expected to move to WHC’s Hemel Hempstead campus.

WHC still has to sell the site to a developer and the council has warned that no development can legally take place until paperwork dealing with issues like site contamination is submitted and approved.

However the college is confident that it can have the Kings Langley campus transferred to Hemel in the summer of 2020.

The state-of-the-art Hemel Hempstead campus is expanding in order to accommodate the Kings students and staff.

The full planning application can be viewed by searching 18/1034/OUT in the planning section of threerivers.gov.uk.
