WHO REMEMBERS: Resident appeals for memories of a club in Berkhamsted

Published on: 24th October 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

BerkhamstedNews received an interesting appeal for Berkhamsted residents who have lived in the area for a while to remember a club that stood where the Kings Arms now resides.

To My Local News readers,

I would love to know… there was a Club called The Ready Steady Go Club and it was in the Kings Arms hall at the back of the Public House.

The took place during 1967 to the early 1970s on a Monday or a Thursday night, we had bands from the States who went on to become Household names which I would love to know who I saw without realizing who we were watching and dancing to.

I can remember bands such as Love Affair, The Foundations, Long John Baldry, Peter Frampton and the Herd, James and Bobby Purify and The Equals all appearing there.

The list goes on and on, and I would love to know who was appearing at the Ready Steady Go Club at that moment in time, all the bands were massive stars at the time and whoever ran the club was a very astute individual.

You can still hear all the bands I have mentioned on Capitol Gold, time really flies. Some great music and we were so lucky to have a club like it in little old Berkhamsted in the back hall of the Kings Arms.
