90 HOMES: Plans for new affordable homes in the pipeline for Chalfont St Giles

Published on: 24th October 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

A affordable housing association is planning to build 90 new homes in Chalfont St Giles to keep up with the need for housing.

Paradigm Housing Group wish to deliver the new homes behind Stylecroft Roadby by applying for a Rural Exception Site planning application.

This guarantees the delivery of affordable homes reserved for people in the area who can demonstrate a local connection to the village.

The plans follow a Housing Need Survey, which was undertaken in the village earlier this year, following the adoption of the Chalfont St Giles Neighbourhood Plan.

Paradigm, who currently owns and manages over 180 homes in Chalfont St Giles, has held public consultations over the past four months, including an initial meeting with local residents in July, two public exhibitions in September and October and several meetings with the parish council.

Martyn Jones, executive director of development at Paradigm Housing Group, commented: “Paradigm is committed to the delivery of high-quality affordable homes in Chiltern District, where we currently manage several thousand homes.

“Our recent Housing Need Survey shows there is a real need for new affordable homes in Chalfont St Giles – which is exactly what the newly-adopted Neighbourhood Plan says.

“We believe that our emerging proposals represent an opportunity to deliver affordable homes for local people, in line with the Neighbourhood Plan.”

Further details regarding the proposals and the consultation events are available via the project website www.paradigm-csg.co.uk
