Watford MP organises free tours of Parliament for town residents

Published on: 18th January 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Richard Harrington MP is offering people the opportunity to tour Westminster Palace for free later this year

These are evening tours of Westminster palace, with a coach leaving from a location in Watford.

Residents are shown around the House of Commons and House of Lords Chambers, as well as St Stephen’s Hall, Central Lobby and Westminster Hall. There will also be a Q&A with Richard Harrington MP beforehand.

Mr Harrington said: “When I was first elected, I was surprised how many people hadn’t visited Parliament, especially as we are so close!  It’s a privilege to be working in such a historic building, and I think it’s only right that it’s open to the public- after all, we all own a tiny piece of it. That’s why I organise evening tours for local residents, and invite Watford schools up during the week. If you haven’t been already, do get in touch.”

The latest dates are March 8 with a coach leaving from Garston at 4.45pm. There will also be a trip on May 17 with a coach leaving from Cassiobury at 4.45pm.

The cost of the coach is £8 per person, and that includes a return journey.

There are limited spaces- please call 01923 296 790 or email richard@richardharrington.org.uk
