Hornets captain Troy Deeney is seeing a psychologist in an effort to curb his indiscipline, it has been revealed.
Deeney has been banned for seven games so far this term after ugly incidents with Stoke’s Joe Allen and Huddersfield’s Collin Quaner, among others.
Deeney told Watford’s official programme that football is a test of mental resolve.
He commented: “I have a chat each week with a sports psychologist and he gets to see that vulnerability that’s within all professional sports people. It also saves my family, the missus in particular, from getting a full download every single day. Like I said, everyone will have their own way of separating work and home life.”
Deeney continues to be linked with a move away from Vicarage Road. West Brom and Newcastle have been mentioned as possible donations.
