Watford manager Javi Gracia said he was pleased with his side’s responseas they came from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1 in the Hornets’ last pre-season friendly before next weekend’s big kick off.
After the visitors led at half time, an Andre Gray double handed the FA Cup finalists a confidence building win to leave Gracia satisfied his side are well prepared to take on Brighton on Saturday.
Speaking to the club website, Gracia said: “It’s important to get good results for the confidence of our players. The best thing is we have the possibility to improve many things. I am sure we will do it.”
Watford began their pre-season campaign on July 1 and have faced Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen, Queens Park Rangers and now Sociedad in that time, recording four victories.
Gracia said: “We started on July 1 and I’m really pleased with all the different moments with games against teams with a high level, They were good for us, all tough games. I prefer to play against these teams and it was good for us to have these experiences. We are now ready to compete.”
