Afternoon tea has long been recognised as a British pastime since its introduction by the Duchess of Bedford in the 1800s.
The Lytton located at Audley Chalfont Dene, the retirement village near in Chalfont St Peter, will be celebrating this tradition by taking part in the ninth annual Afternoon Tea Week in August.
From August 12 to 18, guests who visit Audley Chalfont Dene will be invited to take part in the week by sampling a set menu designed by Head Chef Tom Brittain.
It incorporates the finest seasonal ingredients from local suppliers. Dishes include homemade scones and a variety of cakes and pastries.
Tom Brittain, Head Chef at The Lytton, commented, “We are delighted to welcome owners and those from the local community to Audley Chalfont Dene to celebrate Afternoon Tea Week this year. We’ve developed the best menu yet with a range of delicious treats all made from fresh seasonal produce.”
As part of a special Afternoon Tea Week offer, guests can enjoy 25 per cent on Traditional Afternoon Tea throughout August.
Full Afternoon Tea is available from 2pm daily.
