Two young siblings from Hemel Hempstead have recently competed at a world wakeboarding championship.
Samuel Bradbury, 15, represents Team GB at youth level in the water sport and was crowned 2023 WWA Wake Park World champion in the under 18 category.
After winning his heat in the quarter-final and the semi-final, the Laureate Academy student went on to win the final with a score of 90.2 – a full 6.2 points ahead of his nearest competitor.
The event was held at Liquid Leisure Windsor on July 15 and 16, with more than 300 entrants from 27 countries.
Wakeboarding success is in the family as Samuel’s sister, Summer, also represented Team GB at the championship.
Summer, who attends John F Kennedy Catholic School, was the runner-up in the semi-final and finished just outside the podium in fourth place in the Girls Urban 11-13 category.
Samuel is an ambassador of Norst, a wakeboarding equipment provider, who were thrilled with his success.
They said: “We’re thrilled to celebrate our very own ambassador Samuel for his groundbreaking victory.
