A local Girlguiding group for 10 to 14 years olds will be reopening this month, ahead of the start of the new school year.
The 7th Chorleywood Guides was a thriving, dynamic unit, until it was forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic due to lack of volunteers.
Janet Pilborough-Skinner, a local Brownie leader, said: “I have been sad that my older Brownies and other girls aged 10-14 have struggled to find Guide places in Chorleywood due to a lack of adult volunteers. I am reopening the unit with parent support, in the hopes that other volunteers will come forward to help.
“There are plenty of spaces for girls who would like to have fun, explore new challenges and gain new skills.
“We are also looking for adults who would like a way to get more involved with their local community. We need help at meetings with activities, and also support behind the scenes with admin tasks and accounts.”
