Two controversial developments were rejected by Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) last month.
Councillors and residents have long spoken out against the plans, which first surfaced in May 2020.
Chiltern Hills Golf Club made two separate planning applications, one for 800 homes on land east of Green Street, and a second reduced application for 300 homes at the same location.
In a TRDC Planning Committee meeting on March 23, both plans were rejected.
Ten points were raised to dismantle the application for 800 homes, and nine points were raised to reject the application for 300 homes.
All three Chorleywood Ward councillors – councillor Philip Hearn, councillor Ciarán Reed and councillor Alison Wall – spoke at the meeting.
Cllr Hearn told CHORLEYWOODnews: “I am delighted that the Planning Committee rejected both applications, which would have significantly affected the rural character of Chorleywood and not provided sufficient benefit and infrastructure for the increase in population.”
Savills have been contacted for comment.
