A synchronised swimming team from Hemel Hempstead won the silver award at a regional contest on Saturday, March 18.
Dacorum Synchronised Swimming Club Squad performed their routine to Tick Tock Goes the Clock by Jo Blankenburg at the Swim England East Regional Artistic Swimming Competition at Stevenage Swimming Centre.
The routine was choreographed by coach Emma Chapman, who feels “over the moon” about the girls’ fantastic achievement.
She said: “The team has come so far in the last year and considering we only started learning this new routine in December 2022, they performed it with confidence and demonstrated such high acrobatic lifts throughout the routine.”
The girls, aged 13 to 18, trained three times a week in the pool to practice the routine and skills, and once a week on land to focus on flexibility and routine counts.
They will be competing next at the Swim England East Regional Artistic Swimming Competition in June and the National Combination Cup in July, which will take place in Sheffield.
