A Pinner-based Islamic scholar and philanthropist has collaborated with various organisations in Harrow to provide meals to people in need. On October 16, Mufti Abdul Wahab and the AlWahab Foundation (AWF) joined My Yard Charity and London Community Kitchen to provide cooked meals to deprived people struggling with the cost of-living crisis.
More than 5,000 hot meals were distributed through AWF’s Cooked Food Project, and a further 50 people benefitted from a bag of essential food and household products. Last year, AWF, London Community Kitchen and My
Yard Charity provided 50 homeless people with a winter pack to keep them warm during the winter.
Mr Wahab, chairman of AWF, said: “We want to predominantly work for our community in Harrow, before we spread out. This is home and charity begins at home. The foundation is trying its best to make a tangible difference in the borough of Harrow to make lives better and keep hopes alive.”
