Members of the Chorleywood community are aiming to raise money for a memorial tree to be dedicated to Sienna Quarrington Patel.
Sienna was just five years old when she contracted strep A, also known as scarlet fever, and sadly passed away on Wednesday, December 21.
Sienna was described as a bubbly and beautiful girl who was loved by all.
Chorleywood residents are now hoping to raise £15,000 to buy and plant a memorial tree and install a plaque dedicated to Sienna in the village.
Michael McCourt, who organised the fundraiser, said: “We are hoping that this fundraiser helps the family through this awful time.
“They have said that they want to plant a tree somewhere that their daughter loved to go.”
The fundraiser has raised more than £12,200 so far. To donate, visit the fundraising page.
