Motorists are being advised to avoid the M25 after road closures have been put in place between Junction 20 for Kings Langley and Junction 21a.
Herts Police have confirmed the closures have been put in place between the clockwise junctions as emergency services respond to an incident.
A spokesperson for Herts Police said: “Police were called shortly after 8.05am on Thursday, February 2, to report concerns for the welfare of a man who had been found on the hard shoulder of the M25 northbound, near junction 21a.
“Officers are on scene alongside the ambulance service and closures are in place.
“People are asked to please avoid the area at this time.”
