BANGED UP: Burglar who broke into Rickmansworth home jailed

A man from Sevenoaks, Kent, who burgled multiple properties across the South East, including one in Rickmansworth, has been jailed for more than seven years.

Shaquille Campbell, aged 26, committed several burglaries throughout September and November in Cheam, Surrey; Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and Twickenham, London.

However, he finally bit off more than he could chew when he stole from an address in the village of Dunton Green, Kent, when he was caught just a day later, despite attempting to escape by driving dangerously.

Following Campbell’s arrest, Kent Police were able to recover some of the stolen items from the Rickmansworth burglary from a pawn shop in Shepherd’s Bush, London.

Appearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, January 17, after entering a guilty plea to three counts of burglary, one count of robbery, theft and dangerous driving, Campbell was sentenced to seven years and eight months in prison.

Investigating officer, DC Celia King, said: “Campbell is a prolific criminal who stole high-value cars and designer clothing during burglaries, turning violent when disturbed by some of his victims.

“His driving when seeking to evade arrest put other road users at considerable risk of harm and he deserves to be in jail.”
