Staff and students at a performing company have been celebrating a week of performances and achievements in Watford.

The Dan Tien’s Young Performance Company danced and sang their hearts out in front a large audience in Watford town centre as part of the Imagine Watford Festival, on Saturday July 16.

The performance company were delighted to be performing alongside many wonderful professional arts companies and they rose to the challenge as they performed their cover of And You Don’t Even Know It from the hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Cordelia Evans, a member of the young company said: “I really enjoyed performing at Imagine Watford. It was great to have the event back and be able to dance there with so many other amazing performers.”

The Dan Tien’s youngest performers took to the stage for the first since the coronavirus pandemic in their Infant Showcase, which took place in the Judi Dench Theatre at Abbot’s Hill School, on Sunday, July 17.

More than 65 children aged four to seven took part and they wowed the audience with their confident performances in ballet, tap, musical theatre, street dance and modern.

Amy Lazzerini, co-principal of The Dan Tien said: “It was wonderful to see our youngest students perform so brilliantly on Sunday. The high standard they achieved at such a young age proves that anything is possible. They had the entire audience in tears!”

The Dan Tien also found out that they have made it to the finals in the Chamber of Conscience SME Hertfordshire Business Awards in both the Heart Hertfordshire Community Business of the Year and the Creative and Entertainment Organisation of the Year categories.
