Tring has gone green for a week of sustainability and biodiversity projects.
Tring’s Great Big Green Week 2024 took place from June 8 to 16 and featured a workshop on ‘greening your money’, a chess-a-thon against the former Under-21s British Champion, and a talk on environmental issues in Cuba.
A myriad of outdoor activities were also staged around Tring, including a community garden drop-in, a Millenium Wood Walking Tour, and a Seed SistAs Herb Walk. Children were able to enjoy events such as a Wild Kites Forest School and the launch of Tring’s very first Eco Library.
Hundreds of residents took part in the event, including Mayor of Tring councillor Brian Patterson, who opened the week in Church Square in Tring and spoke to various residents taking part in the celebrations.
This is Tring Town Council and Sustainable Tring’s second year of promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.
Sustainable Tring posted on social media following the week: “Thank you, Tring! What an awesome week. Let us know what you enjoyed and any suggestions for next year!”
