For the third consecutive year, the Green Party have added another of their members to Three Rivers District Council (TRDC), bringing their numbers up to three.
In the Dickinsons Ward located within Croxley Green, it was Green candidate Chery Stungo who beat Lib Dem incumbent Paul Rainbow by a total of 242 votes, unseating the council’s current lead member for public services.
This follows on from the 2022 and 2023 elections, where councillor Chris Mitchell was elected in the former and councillor Narinder Sian in the latter, both Greens and both also in Croxley wards.
This brings the Greens up to par with Labour on the council, with them both having three seats each.
Elsewhere however, little changed in the makeup of TRDC, with seven of the eight Lib Dems, all of the Conservative seats (four) and all of the Labour seats (one) retained by their respective parties, with the Lib Dems majority of 22 out of 39 only slightly reduced to 21.
The Conservatives also remain as the largest opposition party to the Lib Dem cabinet, with 12 seats to their name.
Several new faces have emerged as councillors however, with them retaining their incumbent’s party.
