Electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Tring are the most used in all of Dacorum.
Dacorum Borough Council (DBC) recently revealed that the Forge car park in Tring recorded the highest number of EV charging sessions on average per week since its launch in the autumn – a total of 2,403 sessions, averaging 114 a week.
Joseph Stopps, who recently stood as the Green Party’s candidate for the Tring West and Rural Ward, said: “Great to see that the car chargers, something I have been campaigning for for many years in Tring, are getting so much use. The chargers are also making the council money (and did not cost the council anything), which can only be a good thing for our community.”
DBC was awarded £415,360 by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, with support from the Energy Saving Trust, for additional charging points to be fitted for drivers with plug-in EVs.
A further 13 EV charging points are expected to be installed later this year as part of the borough-wide rollout.
