STORM EUNICE: 70mph winds as weather batters Hertfordshire

Published on: 18th February 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Storm Eunice has arrived, and the county is currently being hit with its devastating impact.

Trees are closing railway lines, with the Chilterns Main Line down due to a collapsed tree near Amersham and the Metropolitan tube line facing major disruption, with no service at all between Wembley Park and Aldgate.

They’ve also come down and are blocking roads in Hemel Hempstead, Radlett, Garston, Bricket Wood, Croxley, and Kings Langley.

There have even been reports of trampolines and roofs coming off some people’s houses in Hemel Hempstead.

Earlier, the Met Office put out a red weather warning across the South of England for the first time ever, including Hertfordshire. This is a ‘danger of life’ warning, which means people should be staying indoors today as much as possible, or face being at risk of dangerous flying debris.

Further updates are set to follow.
