A frustrated mobility scooter user has spoken out about motorists that park on pavements causing issues for her getting around Kings Langley.
The woman who wishes to remain anonymous, says drivers should be more considerate of those with mobility issues and rely on pavements and drop curbs to get around.
She has recently become disabled and is housebound, she does not drive and uses her mobility scooter to get around and claims that the scooter she has is not designed to be driven off a normal kerb.
Speaking about her experiences throughout the village she said: “People are too lazy to walk a few extra yards, it’s very annoying.
“Somebody parked their car, he looked at me, I said ‘I can’t get through there’ and he just walked away and left his car there.”
The woman explains she often must turn home as she physically can’t get to where she needs to go, due to the inaccessibility, and added she avoids going out on bin days.
She finds herself taking a long way round, to find an accessible drop kerb, that isn’t blocked or hasn’t got bushes in the way.
Dacorum Council has been contacted for comment.
