A bungalow roof was hit hard when a large tree fell onto it as Storm Eustice’s rapid winds blew through Watford.
Luckily, the house’s residents had evacuated the building before the toppling, and the scene was attended by both police and the fire service.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue said “We were called at 11:19 this morning to a report of a tree falling on a bungalow in Kytes Drive, Watford.
“One fire engine from St Albans Fire Station was sent to the scene, where firefighters and police officers cordoned off the scene and retrieved some medical equipment from the property for the residents, who had evacuated from the building before crews arrived.”
Multiple roads, buildings, cars, train lines, and other properties were damaged by falling trees in the midst of Storm Eustice, with many other household items also being blown away in the weather.
