The team at Pinner’s last standing bank received a special visit from David Simmonds CBE, MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, in recognition for their service to the community.
In last month’s edition, Pinnernews heard from local business owners who revealed the devastating impact the closure of bank branches has had on footfall in the High Street.
Pinner’s branch of Nationwide is the village’s only remaining bank, and recently celebrated 40 years in the community.
Mr Simmonds MP said: “It was a pleasure to meet with Judy and her team at Nationwide’s Pinner branch as part of their recent 40th anniversary celebrations.
“From speaking with customers, it is evident just how valued the branch is by the community, and the support provided by Judy and the team.
“Another crucial issue impacting residents is the risk of financial scams and online fraud, and I am encouraged by the branch’s work to raise awareness around these. Having met with a number of residents who have been impacted, I know it is particularly important to highlight, and I welcome that much has been done in Parliament to enable authorities to deal more effectively with these types of crimes through the Economic Crime Bill.”
