‘SAFE AND WELCOMING’: Have your say on updates to Public Space Protection Orders in Amersham

Published on: 29th January 2025   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Amersham residents are invited to have their say on Buckinghamshire Council’s Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs).

PSPOs aim to ensure that public spaces can be enjoyed free from anti-social behaviour.

The consultation is an opportunity for the community to share their views on the relevance and necessity of the county’s current PSPOs and suggest new prohibitions. The consultation responses, along with supporting crime and anti-social behaviour data, will be analysed to determine which areas in Buckinghamshire will be subject to a PSPO.

Councillor Arif Hussain, Buckinghamshire Council’s cabinet member for communities, said: “We are committed to ensuring that our public spaces remain safe and welcoming for all residents. This review is a crucial step in updating and refining our PSPOs to reflect the current needs of our communities.

“We want to hear from you if you live, work in, or visit Buckinghamshire. Your feedback will help us shape the future of public space protection in the county.”

The consultation is open until Sunday, February 16. To take part, visit www.t.ly/80kos
