Come along to the Vegan Fair… it’s not just for vegans

Published on: 2nd August 2018   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

St Albans Vegan Fair will be held for the very first time in the city later this month.

The event on August 27 at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre will have more than 60 stalls with a vast range of vegan snacks, hot foods, desserts, drinks, cooking ingredients, ready-made meals, spices, vegan clothing, jewellery and accessories.

The idea of the event is to spread veganism and to show society the variety and taste of vegan foods and also to encourage and support vegan businesses.

The event is organised by Vente Viteikaite who is a Lithuanian but has lived in the UK for more than four years and has organised several vegan events in her home country.

She said: “I was inspired by the Vegfest UK festival I visited three years ago and decided to bring it to Lithuania.

“I’m very nervous about my first event in the UK but the response from the community is great. I feel a lot of support.”

There are many reasons to choose veganism – it’s ethics, health and environmental benefits.

It’s predicted that by the year of 2024 the global vegan cheese market will be worth more than £3billion and already now more than half of the UK’s food start-ups are vegan.

In the upcoming event there’ll be a great range of hot and cold vegan meals, drinks, various sweets – cakes, pies, cupcakes, muffins, doughnuts, cookies and so on – they’re always the best sellers.

The fair is between 10am and 4pm and the entrance fee is £3 paid at the door but there are also fast-track tickets with a goodie bag available in advance, which costs £10 and can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/st-albans-vegan-fair-fast-track-ticket-with-a-goodie-bag-tickets-46620915413

The goodie bag includes various items produced by local, national and foreign vegan brands.
