A gym instructor and her group from Ruislip Manor took part in an annual fundraising walk to raise money for the Michael Sobell Hospice, based in Northwood. The Gymophobics Team of 13 from Gymophobics in Ruislip Manor were led by team leader and gym instructor Martinne Aston. She said: “When the gym opened five years ago we decided to support a local charity. We voted to support Michael Sobell Hospice and have been raising money for them ever since. This was the fifth year we have taken part in this event. “Our team which was made up of three instructors and 10 members all dressed up as Minnie Mouse this year – it was great fun!” The Michael Sobell Hospice Ladies in the Night Walk took place on June 12. Over 1,000 ladies, gents and their dogs took to the local streets and walked through the night to raise vital funds for the hospice, based at Mount Vernon. This year’s walk was the biggest and most successful yet since the event began six years ago and the hospice fundraising team is expecting it to raise around £100,000.
