The Watford-based Hertfordshire Cheetahs American football club are celebrating a historic season of wins, losses, and new developments.
Whilst the senior team’s 3-7 record may not indicate success, the Cheetahs still had a fantastic year of competing. The highlight of this first season in the Premier League was an away win against the perennial powerhouse London Blitz.
After a difficult 2023, the Cheetahs Women’s team entered a 7-a-side Development League for this year, recruited several players, and received coaching from senior team players. Because of this, the Cheetahs Women went undefeated in the regular season and only missed out on the Championship by way of a heartbreaking overtime loss to Caledonia Chaos in the final.
The U16s and U19s continue to develop, and the foundation of a regional U19s representative league is sure to feature Cheetahs players.
A spokesperson for the club said: “The club is in the off-season at the moment, but the hard-working committee is busy preparing for next season. It promises to be the best yet!”
