Temporary roadworks throughout Pinner caused chaos this week as Harrow Council undertakes their extensive road resurfacing programme.
A series of road closures and access restrictions have been put in place as part of the £56million road resurfacing initiative that’s set to take at least four years to complete. The aim of the programme is to provide residents with better quality roads and longer-lasting surfaces across the borough.
As part of the first phase of works, Malpas Drive was closed all day from Monday, June 8 to Thursday, June 11.
Harrow Council apologised for any inconvenience caused and said temporary traffic management measures – including temporary traffic lights and total road closures – were being employed to ease congestion during busy times.
While short-term access for residents is proving an issue, in general residents have expressed relief that the council is fixing potholes and resurfacing road surfaces no longer fit for purpose.
