A Berkhamsted pub has been named among the winners of a public house awards scheme.
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is an independent organisation which promotes traditional British pubs that serve real ales, ciders and perries.
In this year’s Mid-Chilterns CAMRA Cider annual awards, The Rising Sun was crowned as Cider Pub of the Year.
A spokesperson for CAMRA said: “We’re confident that The Rising Sun could be in the top 10 cider pubs across the UK. A cellar of close to 20 changing ciders offers the drinker a choice of traditional styles, fruit-flavoured tipples, modern fancies and rare perries.”
Co-owner of the pub Mark Granger said: “Moving forward, we will continue to develop and refine our cider collection. We are particularly excited about a forthcoming collaboration with Black Lab Cider, a local cider producer, that will only be available to Rising Sun drinkers.
“We have been a fine drinking establishment for the last 170 years and will continue to offer a warm welcome to locals and visitors.”
