Bushey school has been told it ‘Requires Improvement’ following an Ofsted inspection.
The report on Longwood School was released on November 30 after an inspector spent three days at the school the previous month.
The inspector marked Longwood as needing improvement in three of its five criteria: the quality of education; leadership and management; and early years provision.
The report outlines: “The pace of change around curriculum development, including in the early years, is too slow. For some subjects, limited specificity in the curriculum makes it hard for staff to know what precisely to teach. It shows in staff sometimes arranging activities that lack purpose or being unclear about what they should do or say to help further pupils’ understanding.”
The report did, however, highlight positives, stating that “pupils, and their parents, cherish the school’s sense of community”, and that “the kindness that threads through the school ensures pupils feel safe”.
