Published on: 21st October 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

2019 marks the first year there is a new Community Act of Remembrance aimed at the Mill End and Maple Cross communities on November 10.

Working together with The Reach Free School, the hope that all members of the communities involves will feel able to join in this simple act, remembering those who have, and still do, dedicate their lives to ensure our peace and freedom.

Alex Cutmore said: “The afternoon will start with processions of people, gathering and walking to the school. There are five locations around our neighbourhood, that are official meeting points.

“These are Mill End Community Centre, Maple Cross School, St Peter’s Church, Mill End Sports and Social Club and The Club, Maple Cross.

“Please congregate at 1.30pm, in the car parks of these venues. If you need to drive there, please safely park in the vicinity, rather than in the car park.

“The groups will leave promptly at 1.45pm and walk to The Reach Free School for a short act of remembrance, outside, at 2.30pm. Of course, if you live on route, you can join the procession as it goes past.”

Car parking at The Reach Free School is reserved for those who are unable to do the walk, and other hall users.

Alex added: “So please, spread the word and come and join in. Everyone is welcome.”
