Police have closed a road in Watford “for some time” this morning to investigate a collision.

Police and other emergency services are currently on the scene and the entire roundabout and the Colosseum car park are closed off and say it will remain this way for some time.

Traffic diversions are in place, but police are asking people to avoid this area where possible while the road closures are in place.

Hempstead Road is at a standstill and surrounding roads are heavily affected.

As a result of the closure, West Herts College has cancelled all morning lessons.

In a statement, they said: “Due to a road traffic collision early this morning, emergency services have closed off the Watford Town Hall roundabout.

“All Watford campus lessons are cancelled until midday, updates will be shared by our social media channels.

“Students who were due to be at Watford campus this morning are advised to stay home until the road and college is reopened.”
