Abbots Langley Library are helping residents whose loved ones are suffering from dementia this month.
As part of World Alzheimer’s Month, the village library has set up a display for visitors who want to find out how they could help someone suffering from the disease, specifically through music.
On social media, a library spokesperson said: “If you pop in Abbots Langley Library this month, you can see our special display for #WorldAlzheimersMonth.
“If you care or know someone with dementia, did you know that listening to a personal playlist can reduce anxiety, improve mood and bring up memories which can be shared?
“It can be music from childhood, like lullabies, favourite pop songs or TV tunes.
“This is the idea behind the Playlist for Life and this year we are a Playlist for Life Help Point to advise you on how to create one with your special person with dementia.
“We have leaflets to guide you on the process, prompts to start a conversation and a copy of the 100 years book, listing the top UK songs from 1915 to 2015.”
